a husband to be thankful for.

Today I wanted to share with you all a post I pre-scheduled for Wednesday of last week – but we had a tragedy in our family which pushed it back. So I thought today was a good day to bring you all my pre-thanksgiving post.

To talk to you about what I am most thankful for in my life.

With last week being Thanksgiving and this Friday being my Birthday, woop woop; I wanted to focus on the one person who has been my rock and my true love for almost 6 years. He amazes me.

I write a lot about my beliefs, my hopes, my dog but I guess I have never put into words what I am most grateful for.

I am most thankful for my husband. Now this is hands down the easiest choice of my life.

Now here is why:

He picked me. I will direct you to this post – but let me briefly explain it. B did not really date before me – he described it as “never finding that person I wanted to share that part of my life/self with…” – “until I found you.” There are no words to describe how that makes a girl’s heart go pitter patter.

He is the person in college that every girl wanted to date – but no one could have. That guy who when he smiled your heart melted. I am ever thankful that he picked me.

His ability to make me laugh. There is no other person on the planet that makes me laugh the way B does. To say he is funny is an understatement – if seeing a grown man walk around like Urkel – shorts up to his nose, hunched over “Did I doooo that?” coming out of his mouth; I don’t know what is.

His little annoyances with me and the way he describes them also will sometimes result in a chuckle but most of the time in a jab. Either way it’s funny and I love him for it.

{He is such a child. I love it.}

 The way he loves Rascal. There is nothing more satisfying than witnessing the love between man and canine. When I see the way they are together it literally makes my heart skip a beat. It tells me that I am totally right in the assumption that B will make the most amazing father to a human child.

He wants nothing more than to be the best “Dadda” in the world and he has accomplished that – canine child check.

{I get the goofiest smile on face watching them play together}

 The way he loves his friends. B is incredibly loyal. His friends are his world. He takes immense pride in the way he handles his friendships, he believes that communication is key to a healthy friendship.

The bond that he shares with his friends, male and female – show me the kind of man he will encourage our children to be. B has a lucky group of friends – and I have the best role model daddy for my future babies.

 His face. Now don’t think I am all weird. {Oh here she goes talking about body parts…creepy}. It’s not like that.

I love his face – the way he smiles – so soft and sweet and how incredibly soft his cheeks are. Its heaven and something I remember falling in love with early on.

{He is so good to put up with me.}

 His family. B comes from an incredible family. They are truly one of a kind. They care about you almost instantaneously.  Because B liked me – they treated me with respect. Because B loved me – they loved me.

It has never once been uncomfortable, judgmental or hurtful. B is the luckiest man to have the most supportive and fantastic family; but I am even luckier that my amazing family is now connected to them, forever.

{Feeding my little nephew – like a champ.}

 The soccer shorts. I love how easy it is to love his style.

Those soccer shorts and athletic shirts that overtake the right side of my walk-in are firmly planted in my heart. It’s easy to swoon over a man in soccer cut-offs. Isn’t it?

 The way he loves me. There is nothing compared to the way my husband loves me.

I know with the gentle sweet way he looks at me or touches my arm; that I am safe and above all the center of his heart. He will protect me to the ends of the earth.

There is not a moment were I feel uneasy or unsafe. B will always have my back and love our future children and of course Rascal until the end of time. I am certain of it.

 Support. His unwavering support for me. He may not always agree with me but he does always listen to my opinion and support my beliefs. He makes me believe in myself more.

{Who else would wear this and get his picture taken?}

DIY Skills. My husband has a knack for the crafty. He is always right by my side helping make my ideas into a reality. He is the best partner I could have ever asked for.

{Here he is sealing the counter tops he made for me.}

 Now I hope he is not too embarrassed when he reads this but this Thanksgiving and holiday season and all the rest to come I will always be most thankful for him.

You might notice some changes around here the next few days. No worries. Just a little blog facelift coming your way. ;)

Linking up with my favorite.
